Scotland Energy Help is a trading name of Interesting Image (Company No. SC874446), registered in Scotland. Our registered office is Office 1, Technology House, 9 Newton Place, Glasgow G3 7PR. Interesting Image is the data controller responsible for any personal data you provide through this website.

2. What data we collect

When you use our grant eligibility checker, contact form, or landlord enquiry form, we collect:

  • Your name (first name)
  • Your email address
  • Your postcode
  • Information about your home type, heating system, tenure and the upgrades you're interested in
  • If you contact us, the content of your message

We do not knowingly collect special category data (health, ethnicity, political opinions, etc.).

3. How we use your data

We use the information you provide to:

  • Tell you which Scottish energy grants your home may qualify for
  • Send you the guide or information you requested
  • Where you consent, pass your details to a vetted MCS-certified and TrustMark-registered installer who can help with the works you're interested in
  • Respond to enquiries you send us through the contact form
  • Measure aggregate, anonymous traffic to the site (see our Cookie Policy)

Our lawful bases under UK GDPR are consent (when you submit a form asking us to help) and legitimate interests (running our service and keeping it secure).

4. Who we share data with

We only share your details with vetted MCS-certified and TrustMark-registered installer partners when you have asked us to help you access a grant or quote. We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or anyone unconnected with your enquiry.

We use trusted service providers to host our website and handle form submissions (e.g. GoHighLevel for lead management). These processors act on our instructions and are bound by appropriate data-protection terms.

5. How long we keep your data

  • Enquiry data (name, email, postcode, home info): up to 24 months from your last contact with us, then deleted.
  • Contact form messages: up to 24 months, then deleted.
  • Analytics data (anonymous): retained according to Google Analytics' default settings.

6. Your rights under UK GDPR

You have the right to:

  • Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Ask us to correct anything that's inaccurate
  • Ask us to delete your data ("right to be forgotten")
  • Ask us to restrict how we use your data, or object to certain uses
  • Withdraw any consent you've given, at any time
  • Complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk

7. Security

We use HTTPS across the site and only work with reputable processors. No system is perfect, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data from loss, misuse and unauthorised access.

8. Children

Our service is intended for adult homeowners, tenants and landlords. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted clearly.
